Betty White says that she is supporting Barack Obama in the upcoming presidential election.

The AP reports that White told reporters on Friday (May 11) that while she usually does not share her political views with the public, she "very, very much favours" Obama for re-election.

The 90-year-old actress, who premiered her prank show Off Their Rockers earlier this year added, that she appreciates what Obama has done so far in his presidency and "how he represents us".

White is not the first celebrity to show public support for the president in the past few months.

George Clooney raised $15 million ((£9.3 million) for Obama during a lavish dinner party in at his Hollywood home.

American Horror Story showrunner Ryan Murphy is also set to host a fundraiser dinner for the Obama campaign, with tickets to the function costing $40,000 (£24,800) per couple.
