David Beckham on Barack Obama meet: 'One of best moments of my life'

David Beckham has revealed that meeting Barack Obama was one of the "best moments" of his life.

The Los Angeles Galaxy star met the US President last week with his teammates to celebrate their MLS Cup win.

During the meeting, Obama made jokes about Beckham's age and his H&M underwear range.

Speaking about the meeting, he told Daybreak: "It was one of the best moments of my life. I had such a busy week and I arrive at the White House to meet the President and the First Lady, and he gives me a lot of stick and gives my underwear a plug; it was perfect."

Referring to his week which included a football match in California and joining Lord Coe for an Olympics hand-over in Athens, he said: "It was one of the busiest and best weeks of my career and life."

David Beckham reiterated his hopes of playing for the Team GB football team for this summer's Olympics.

He said: "No news yet, I've got to keep myself fit and in form and hopefully I'll have a chance."
