The Who frontman said that the winner of this year's Tour de France and Men's Individual Time Trial Olympic title was welcome at any of his band's future shows.
"I'm just in admiration of the man," Daltrey told ShortList
"What he's shown the world as a sportsman is something that hasn't been seen for a very long time; his dignity, his humility, his sportsmanship."
He continued: "What an honour to know that he was listening to us while training. I think we'll have to get him on stage.
"He's an honorary guest at any show he wants. He's got a backstage pass for life."
Daltrey added: "It's so humbling, so wonderful to know that our music can still inspire people.
"A couple of members of our band aren't here any more, but the noise they made in their life will echo forever."
