The two leading female stars of teen film franchises Twilight and The Hunger Games were introduced at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday (September 8), reports People.
The pair are currently in Canada promoting On the Road and Silver Linings Playbook respectively.
"After being introduced, Kristen and Jennifer were soon chatting like old pals," a source said.
"They were so excited to meet each other," the witness added.
The actresses were later joined by Bradley Cooper, who stars opposite Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook.
Lawrence allegedly later invited Stewart to an afterparty at the Soho House.
Kristen Stewart recently signed up to play the suicidal Peyton Loftis in the film adaptation of William Styron's novel Lie Down in Darkness, a role in which Jennifer Lawrence had expressed interest.
Stewart will soon be seen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, which will be released on November 16.
