Ronan Keating has denied reports that he is planning a permanent move to Sydney.

The 35-year-old former Boyzone singer, who recently announced that he is splitting from his wife Yvonne, was believed to be using his role as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor as a reason to relocate for good.

A source claimed earlier this week that Keating wanted to live in Australia because his "career has taken off" there, adding: "He's become a big star there and enjoys the lifestyle."

Keating, however, said that he will never move to the other side of the world because he wants to be near his children. He wrote on his Twitter page: "I hear some papers are saying I plan on moving to Oz. great country but my kids live in Ireland and so will I."

A spokesperson for Keating also confirmed to the Daily Mail that Ronan will stay in Dublin for six months of the year when he is not filming The X Factor in Sydney.

Ronan and Yvonne, who have 13-year-old Jack, 11-year-old Marie and 6-year-old Ali together, both confirmed their split on Twitter and thanked fans for their "support".
