Gemma McCluskie murder: Brother's trial date set for November

The brother of former EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie will stand trial for her murder in November, it has been confirmed.

Tony McCluskie, 35, today (June 18) appeared for a brief hearing at the Old Bailey after being accused of killing his 29-year-old sister.

Mr McCluskie spoke only to confirm his identity, but it was announced that his trial will take place from November 12, BBC News reports.

A plea and case management hearing has also been confirmed for October 12.

Ms McCluskie's torso was found in Regent's Canal in Hackney on March 6. She had been reported missing a few days earlier.

The actress played the role of Kerry Skinner in EastEnders in 2000 and 2001.
