As announced last August, as of this month, the show will no longer air on Channel Ten in Australia and will instead be screened on the network's new digital station Eleven.
Network bosses have confirmed that Eleven will focus on targeting a youth audience, leading to speculation that Neighbours' storylines could be altered to suit this aim.
However, speaking to The West Australian, Bower explained: "I like to think the show moves along and has always resonated with the same demographic of Eleven, so the show will not undergo a deliberate change in direction and storyline for next year."
She continued: "No new families are planned, however new characters Detective Mark Brennan and Jade Mitchell will have huge storyline arcs in ."
Meanwhile, discussing the serial's future on Eleven, she said: "The way the channel has been branded with Neighbours the jewel of the Eleven crown has really reinvigorated everyone to make the best show possible. Like we've been saying, same show, same address just at a new front door."
Neighbours makes its move to Eleven on January 11.
