Vicky Entwistle: 'I don't miss long Coronation Street hours'

By
Former Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle has admitted that she does not miss the soap's demanding filming schedules.

The actress bowed out from the role of Janice Battersby in early 2011 after 14 years on the cobbles.

Entwistle appeared on Loose Women today (September 21) and revealed that she is enjoying the variety of life after soap.

She commented: "I'm an actress - I play different roles. Now I'm getting the opportunity to do that. I'm having a ball."

Reflecting on Coronation Street, Entwistle continued: "I miss my friends there, but I don't miss the hours and the long days. I'm having such a good time at the moment. It's nice to have your life back, isn't it?

"What I like doing is taking on a project, doing that and having some downtime with [my husband] Andy and enjoying my family. Most of my family live in Spain, so it's nice to be able to go and see my mother and things like that."

Entwistle confirmed that she does not watch Coronation Street but remains friends with a number of the cast.

She said: "You kind of move on. You can't ever watch it as a viewer, because you've seen it on the other side - it's not got the same charm because you know everybody."

Entwistle is about to appear on stage for a tour of The Vagina Monologues. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
