'Draw Something' app hits 20m downloads

By
Draw Something for iOS and Android devices has surpassed 20 million downloads.

OMGPOP's social gaming app hit the milestone after just five weeks on the market, according to Business Insider.

The game offers a similar experience to Pictionary, allowing users to draw using their handset's touch-screen and guess what their friends are sketching. Social networking integration enables players to challenge each other via Facebook and Twitter.

Draw Something, available as an ad-supported free download or a 69p premium purchase, is currently topping the App Store and Google Play Store charts in various territories. Its 12 million active users have created more than 1 billion drawings between them.

OMGPOP is said to be making six-figure earnings each day from the application, which has racked up higher profits in five weeks than the rest of the studio's library did in a year.

Draw Something is expected to gain ground on Zynga's bestselling social game Words With Friends in the coming weeks.
