Sony has announced that its Music Unlimited service is now available for iOS devices in North America.
The firm has brought the music streaming platform to Apple systems in a bid to bring further competition to market leader Spotify.
Music Unlimited is free for iPad and iPhone owners to download, but carries subscription charges starting at $3.99 (£2.50) a month. Users who download the app early will receive a free 30-day trial of the premium package.
The streaming service, which features a library of more than 5 million songs, was previously released for Sony's first-party devices such as the PlayStation 3, as well as external platforms including Android.
Music Unlimited's premium service costs $10 (£6.30) per month, offering offline playback, playlist creation, chart listings and access to new releases.
Sony is expected to release the Music Unlimited iOS app in the UK in the near future.
