FX has announced the premiere dates for a number of its shows.

American Horror Story, which comes from Glee producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, will begin airing on October 5.

The series was picked up earlier this week and focuses on what happens when a family moves into a haunted house.

Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Shelby Young, Frances Conroy, Alexandra Breckenridge, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Denis O'Hare and Jessica Lange will star in the drama, which Murphy has described as "a really cool, interesting, zeitgeist show about fears".

Elsewhere, Sons of Anarchy will return for its fourth season with a 90-minute premiere on September 6.

David Hasselhoff recently signed up to play a former porn star in the drama, while other stars who have landed roles in the show include Danny Trejo, Rockmond Dunbar, LaMonica Garrett, Niko Nicotera and Ray McKinnon.

FX also announced the premiere date for its comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which will return for its seventh season on September 15.

Meanwhile, The League will begin its third season on October 6 and animation Archer will air new episodes in a special run on September 15, 22 and 29.
