The half-hour comedy was reportedly the subject of a bidding war between NBC and ABC, with the latter network eventually winning the rights.
20th Century Fox TV and Imagine Television will produce the multi-camera project. Lonow will serve as an executive producer alongside Imagine TV's Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo.
How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life currently has a put pilot commitment from ABC.
Other projects in development at the network include a new legal drama from Changing Lanes writer Michael Tolkin, a comedy from the writers of new Justin Timberlake film Friends with Benefits and a modern-day update of the Jekyll and Hyde story.
A spy drama from Josh Friedman, a psychological drama by Fight Club's Jim Uhls and cop series Yard Dogs are also in the works.
