'Fringe' star Blair Brown joins Sigourney Weaver's 'Political Animals'

Blair Brown has won a guest role on USA's Political Animals.

The upcoming drama stars Sigourney Weaver as Elaine Barrish, a former First Lady turned Secretary of State.

Fringe star Brown will appear in episode five of the six-part run, TVLine reports.

The 65-year-old actress will play Barbara Berg, the mother of a journalist (Carla Gugino) who has set her sights on Barrish.

Brown plays Nina Sharp on Fox's Fringe and has also appeared in episodes of Falling Skies and Law & Order: SVU.

Other stars attached to Political Animals include Ellen Burstyn (Ocean's Thirteen), James Wolk (Lone Star), Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The First Avenger), Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) and Ciarán Hinds (Rome).

The series - created by Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark - premieres on Sunday, July 15 at 10/9c on the USA network.
