Spears told The X Factor that she was much more impressed with San Francisco's contestants than she had been in Kansas City the week before.
"It's been fun, it's been a lot of fun," she said.
She also commented on her judging style: "I think I'm a fair judge. Sometimes it's kind of hard because I know what they've been through and being so young... it's such a delicate situation when they're that young.
"You just have to use constructive criticism and be there for them and show them support... I'm looking for someone who shows spark and spunk... [and that] they're meant to do what they're doing."

Spears went on to deny the assertion that she has become the harshest X Factor judge.
"I don't think I'm the toughest judge at all. I definitely think Simon would have to be the toughest judge," she said.
The singer reunited with former background vocalist Don Phillips at the San Francisco audition when Phillips competed for a spot on the show.
Spears and the contestant apparently shared a warm reunion despite his audition not going well, but Phillips later appeared to insult the X Factor judge in an online posting.
The X Factor returns to Fox in September.
