'The Voice' Erin Willett: 'Blake Shelton and I can be great team'

By
The Voice contestant Erin Willett has predicted that she and mentor Blake Shelton will make a "great team".

The singer performed 'I Want You Back' on Monday night (February 13) and became the latest member of Team Blake when the country star was the only mentor to turn around.

Shelton told her that she had a powerful voice and he loved the fact she got the crowd up and excited during her performance.

Speaking to social media correspondent Christina Milian, she said: "When I was going into this, [Blake as a coach] was not honestly in my mind, and then when he turned around I was so relieved to see him.

"I thought it might be the best case scenario and we might be an odd pair but I honestly think we could be a great team."

She added: "Last season he did so much for Dia [Frampton] and was a great inspiration for her and someone to look up to throughout everything.

"I couldn't have asked for anything other than what just happened in there."

Discussing her performance, she added: "I was really excited to do that song because from the moment people in the crowd heard that first part of the song they were up and with me and so thankful and that was one of the reasons Blake said he turned around. "

The Voice airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC.
