'The Voice' wins ratings on Monday, but lower than previous years

The Voice returned with a ratings win for NBC on Monday night.

The third season opener was the highest rated and most watched show of the evening, taking in an adults 18-49 demo rating of 4.1 and 12.03 million viewers for its two-hour premiere at 8pm.

However, it is the show's lowest-rated premiere to date, and is 39% lower than last year's opener.

The network's premiere of The New Normal scored a rating of 2.5 (6.91m) at 10pm.

Fox's season finale of Hell's Kitchen fell a tenth from last week to 2.5 (6.20m) at 8pm. MasterChef's finale also fell a tenth to 2.6 (6.43m) at 9pm.

ABC's Bachelor Pad also dropped a tenth from last week to 1.3 (4.51m) at 8-10pm.

The CW's LA Complex was even with last week, earning a rating of 0.3 (0.67m) at 8pm.

CBS's overrun coverage of the US Open final between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic took in preliminary ratings of 1.7 (5.44m) from 8pm.
