Sheen starred as hedonistic playboy Charlie Harper for eight seasons, before being fired from the show in March over comments he made about series creator Chuck Lorre.
"177 episodes, it was getting a little stale," Sheen admitted to Access Hollywood. "I just didn't know it was going to rot and fall off the vine like this."
The actor said that he had always wanted to end the show in dramatic fashion, rather than seeing Lorre continue the series without him.
"I feel bad for the fans, because there was never that final episode where Alan like comes into my room calling my name, pulls back the closet door and there I am hanging - with the note, 'How do you like me now, Chuck?'" Sheen added.
Since leaving Two and a Half Men, Sheen has embarked on a US-wide tour of his one-man show 'My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not An Option'.
