The drama - from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan - follows the crew of a nuclear submarine who become fugitives after refusing to fire their missiles.
Taking refuge on a small island, the crew establish themselves as the world's smallest nuclear nation.
Ryan confirmed the latest castings on Twitter, writing: "Max Adler of recent Glee fame has also been added to the Last Resort cast."
He later added: "Homeland's Omid Abtahi the latest to join Last Resort cast. Thrilled to have him."
In addition to his Glee role, Adler has featured in episodes of Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case. Abtahi - who played Raqim Faisel on Homeland - has appeared on Fringe and The Good Wife.
Ryan later announced that both X-Men star Bruce Davison and Avatar actor Matt Gerald will appear in the Last Resort pilot.
Davison was nominated for a 'Best Supporting Actor' Oscar for his role in 1989 film Longtime Companion, while Gerald has previously worked with Ryan on both The Shield and CBS drama The Unit.
Filming on Last Resort begins tomorrow (February 30) in Hawaii. Scott Speedman, Robert Patrick, Dichen Lachman, Andre Braugher and Autumn Reeser will also star.
