True Blood was renewed for a fifth season by HBO in August, but the show's creator Alan Ball has admitted that he has considered leaving the show after that.
Ball's comments later sparked speculation about the future of the supernatural drama.
However, Moyer, who plays Bill, has now told E! Online that he does not think there is any reason why True Blood could not continue for several more years.
"There is certainly enough material for us to keep going and going," he said. "And as you know, television contracts are six years, so I don't think there is any need for [the fifth run] to be the last season."
Moyer added: "I don't see any need or reason for it to stop when it is as successful as it is."
Moyer's co-star Joe Manganiello recently claimed that True Blood is the "sexiest show ever made".
