The writer/producer took to Twitter to drop hints about the future of the CW drama, which stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.
"[Expect] surprises, tragedies, new villains, break-ups, make-ups, romance and scandal," she wrote. "[Plus] small pockets of happiness for all. And maybe some fun."
Vampire Diaries star Candice Accola (Caroline) recently revealed that she wants to see the show's characters reach their "breaking point[s]".
"I am personally excited to see... what everyone's breaking point is going to be," she explained. "Because at this point, everyone has really had to keep it together - what is gonna be the straw that starts to break the camel's back?"
The Vampire Diaries will return to The CW on Thursday, October 11. In the UK, the series airs on ITV2.
