'Dexter' takes two Golden Globes
Dexter took top honours at this year's Golden Globes, scooping two of the ceremony's most prestigious awards.

Lead star Michael C. Hall, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, was named best actor in a television drama for his portrayal of the titular serial killer. John Lithgow took the supporting gong for his role as serial killer Trinity in the dark drama's fourth season.

Glee nabbed the award for best comedy or musical series, beating off 30 Rock and The Office, although the show's Jane Lynch lost out on the best supporting actress gong to Big Love's Chloe Sevigny.

Mad Men beat House and True Blood to the title of best drama series, while Alec Baldwin and Toni Collette were named best comedy actor and actress.

The ceremony was hosted by Ricky Gervais at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
