The Swedish-born actress - who starred opposite Twilight's Kellan Lutz in 2011 film Arena - will play a recurring role in the Showtime drama's seventh season.
Winter has been cast as a Russian dancer who works in a Miami strip club, according to TVLine.
Her past credits include a recent episode of NCIS and a 2009 instalment of UK detective drama Lewis.
Other actors joining Dexter for the new season include Luck star Jason Gedrick - who will play the owner of the strip club - and Rome actor Ray Stevenson - cast as a powerful gangster.
The new season of Dexter will premiere on Sunday, September 30 on Showtime. In the UK, the series airs on FX.
