'America's Got Talent' season finale - Live blog

By
Tonight marks the finale episode of America's Got Talent, and the nation has some tough choices this season. Last episode, judges Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel were amazed by the talent as they competed to be crowned the champion - but who will have what it takes? Stay with Digital Spy live from 8/7c to find out!

21:58The second runner up is Tom Cotter, meaning Olate Dogs win $1 million, a Vegas show, and the number one spot on season 7 of America's Got Talent! The dogs' owners and their pups are so ecstatic they can barely get their words out!

Tom doesn't look thrilled to come in second place but he laughs it off, saying: "My experience was unbelievable, it was really great, and I'm going to fall down the stairs and get my own million dollars tonight." Do you think America made the right choice?

So that's it! Olate Dogs will be on the Today show on NBC tomorrow morning to talk about the win. Goodbye to the judges, and goodbye Sharon Osbourne! See you next season for America's Got Talent!

21:50Green Day take the stage as the final performers, and now it's time to find out who finished in third place...William Close. Members of the audience boo as the judges give him a standing ovation. William says: "I just want to say, I made it to third place in this competition and that rocks!" It does - William was a true talent.

21:38Before we find out who wins this, let's indulge in some of Nick Cannon's greatest moments over this past season. The very best: that one time a squirrel peed on his shoulder.

21:28Justin Bieber has finally hit the stage to perform his song 'As Long As You Love Me' featuring Big Sean. Justin still insists on trying to prove he can dance. He also still insists on wearing leather pants. It's all very embarrassing.

21:23The fourth place act is... David Garibaldi and his CMYKs. David and the group did some amazing work on the show. "This has been the most amazing journey in my life," he says. "I want to dedicate this to the artist Denny Dent, who invented this style."

21:18The act in fifth place and leaving the competition is...Joe Castillo. Joe looks heartbroken, but says: "It was wonderful, and I'd especially like to think all of America...for the privilege of being on this stage."

After the break and some performances from the Biebs and Green Day we'll find out if William Close, Olate Dogs, David Garibaldi and his CMYKs or Tom Cotter will take the number one spot!

21:13The first results of the night are about to be revealed... the first to go home are The Untouchables. "Our time was amazing and we're so glad that we got to the finals," says one of the youngest boys. Some of the kids are weeping, and Sharon says, "Don't be sad, because it's my last show, too. So we're leaving together!"

21:10The famed PS22 choir perform Lady Gaga's 'The Edge of Glory' to Joe Castillo's beautiful sand art... adorable kids!

20:59Joan Rivers just Kanye West-ed Tom Cotter's roast of the judges to show him how it's done. "You've got to be meaner," she says. "Like: 'Ich, look at this panel, if I wanna see a group of people who makes lots of money and have no talent I will not watch you guys, I will watch the Kardashians!'"

20:56"When Howard came, it was like a natural progression because I've known him for so long. It just felt right," says Sharon, as the judges reminisce about their time over this season. Howie adds that Howard "totally changed the vibe" this season.

20:50The Blue Man Group is apparently still a thing. The judges look as unamused as I am.

20:42Ah, now a retrospective of some of the worst acts of the season... including the 'Grandfather of Rap' Burton Crane. Things get really embarrassing...and really bizarre, as E-40, The Rangers, and Nick Cannon join Burton for a remix of 'Whatchu Gon Do?" I don't know, but what I want you to do is stop rapping.

20:36"They say you should never work with children or animals." Unless you're Frankie J, who now takes the stage with Olate Dogs and The Untouchables. There's glitter, sequins, fringe, strobe lights... Sensory overload.

20:29William Close now takes the stage to perform with One Republic - they sound amazing together! If this whole America's Got Talent thing doesn't work out for William, he could always become a new band member.

20:23The judges discuss all the amazing acts they saw this season. According to Howard Stern, William Close has a "very special place" in his heart, since he was one of the first acts that he ever saw. Aw, sweet.

20:17Ne-Yo is now here singing 'Let Me Love You Until You Learn to Love Yourself.' Romantic... I guess.

20:10After some emotional montages of the last few weeks of competition, a performance from your friendly neighborhood rapper, Flo Rida (joined by David Garibaldi and his CMYKs). Flo Rida is holding an absolutely ridiculous bejeweled microphone. It's amazing.

20:04Tonight, host Nick Cannon tells us we have guest performances from Green Day, Blue Man Group, Justin Bieber, One Republic... I'm already exhausted!

20:03Some beautiful imagery of the finalists The Untouchables, Olate Dogs, David Garibaldi and his CMYKs, William Close, Joe Castillo, and Tom Cotter waxing poetic about the big night... beautiful. Nick Cannon in a dapper white suit. Really bright.

19:56Here we go, guys! The winning act to be revealed tonight - who do you think will take the crown? Who would you like to take the crown? The Untouchables? Olate Dogs? My vote is Justin Bieber.
