Everyone's agreed on one thing, anyway - that elimination was tough. Sophie's feeling a little "proud" of Alisha for stepping out, but she's also frustrated that she was so close and still decided to go home. "Leaving the show would never be an option for me," she adds.
Elsewhere, Annaliese acknowledges that she is the "underdog" but hey, she makes up for it in personality! While Laura's proud of herself for getting best photo twice in a row - she thinks she's proof that you can do anything you set your mind to!
But let's get this week's competition underway! The models travel to Hong Kong and know they're going to be facing go-sees ("Why again?" groans Laura.) But it's good news for Annaliese, who considers Laura "totally on top" but knows that her walk isn't her best asset...
Anyway, they meet Kelly Cutrone on a boat and she confirms that they'll be going on go-sees... with a twist! The models will win $1000HKD for every go-see they book. Not too bad! To help out, each model is paired with a local guy to help them get to their various castings. Understandably, they're all pretty excited about proving themselves in the real world!
William Tang: Though Sophie isn't sure whether William liked her ("he had a complete poker face on"), she doesn't need to worry - he praises her figure and says she can "basically try on anything". He's less convinced by Laura - "she doesn't really walk stable" - but Annaliese is another one who does well, as William praises her complexion and "very special flair". "I love her!" he grins.
Gregory Derham: Gregory loves Sophie, who wears a Marie Antoinette-style outfit for him. He gushes that she's fantastic, with great height and "alive" eyes and says that she's sophisticated, beautiful and elegant. He's pleased with Annaliese as well, saying she brought "bounce" and "sassiness" to her outfit (which Annaliese describes as "nutty, but in a nutty good way". Laura doesn't fare quite so well - Gregory says she's great and enthusiastic, but needs to work on her walk.
Henry Lau: Annaliese isn't happy with her performance when she meets Henry, as he ends up asking her to walk three times. "It just rolled downhill, basically," she admits. Henry admits that he wouldn't book her - he needs a "cool girl" who's sexy and straightforward. Sophie does better - Henry likes her face and says she's confident and sexy. Not bad! And he likes Laura, too, praising the colour of her hair and her different look.
Marisa Zerman: Laura's nervous about the challenge sending her home since her walk isn't great, but can she impress Marisa? Well, not really. Marisa says she looked good in the clothes, but her walk wasn't strong. On the other hand, Marisa says Sophie "moved really well" in the clothes, which suited her. Annaliese is the real winner for Marisa, though - she loves her hair, look, and walk "with just the right amount of attitude". Annaliese is actually Marisa's favourite!
So back at the pier, it's up to Kelly to reveal the winners (and hand out the prize money!) She explains that though the designers liked meeting Laura, a couple were on the fence about her ability to walk and deliver in a show. Annaliese and Sophie, on the other hand, had "standout castings". And here it comes - Laura booked two out of four shows, Annaliese booked three, and Sophie got a full house - four out of four!
The models all get their prize money... and Sophie's thrilled to hear that she'll be the new face of Marisa's line Nude Is Rude, taking on catalogue and internet work! Wow! And she'll win a boat full of clothes. Not bad at all, right? But for now, it's just time to enjoy the Hong Kong nightlife with their guides (and, um, spend all their prize money.)
Let's hope they didn't stay out drinking and dancing for too long, though, because it's time for the shoot! It's a big one, too - it's time to shoot their campaign for the Top Model fragrance Dream Come True! If they win, this picture will be used to promote the fragrance worldwide, so it's kind of a big deal. But every shoot needs a photographer - this time, it's photographer and Australia's Next Top Model judge Jez Smith!
It's not just him they need to impress - the creative director and founder of Hatch Beauty, Ben Bennet, is there. He's basically their client and who they have to impress - goodness! Laura's already nervous without that - she explains that she does not feel at home being a princess. "I used to burn the heads of Barbie dolls," she explains. "My comfort zone's been taken away."
She's got a little longer to freak out, though, because Sophie's the first to get her shot. She's determined to show how serious she is about the competition, and Jay's certainly impressed with her energy, saying her movement in the bottle they're posing in is "magical". Sophie just wants to know if Ben liked it, but he doesn't hold back - though there were "some good things" he warns that there was "a lot of repetitiveness".
Annaliese is next but though she's vivacious and bubbly beforehand, she really struggles with her shoot! Jay, Jez and Ben all try to give her some coaching but she later explains that she felt she couldn't do it... and once she thought that, it was hard to get past it. Tearing up, she says in confessional that she is "really, really grateful" about how far she's come in the competition. Still, Ben thinks that though they shot 200 frames, he does think there were some good shots at the end.
Finally, it's Laura's turn - and she's still worrying about not being a princess! Sure enough, she finds it tough, and Jay warns her she might be going too sexy with it (okay, what he actually says is: "Ooh, a stripper pole is coming down in a minute'.) Ben admits that there was some "joyousness" missing from Laura, while Annaliese suggests that Laura wouldn't be a good role model since she's so much about sex. And Jay may agree - he warns that this photoshoot could see Laura go home.
It's almost time to find out, and both Annaliese and Laura are worrying about their performance in the photoshoot. But let's find out the result...
Jez joins Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker and Kelly on the judging panel this week, but let's get things underway with the remaining American in the competition...
Nigel says her shot is "beautiful", "ethereal" and "feminine" and says he sees expression in her eyes even though she's not looking at the camera. Jez agrees that Laura looks like a "goddess" in the shot, but points out that the client wasn't sure - the demo was younger. Kelly agrees that 18-year-old girls wouldn't necessarily want to look like Laura and says the shot makes her think of a plastic surgery office on Park Avenue. Ouch! Laura admits that she found it difficult to get out of her hard-and-sexy comfort zone. Tyra suggests that the shot is beautiful, but then she isn't the target demographic!
Kelly finally admits that Annaliese has won her over - she's come a long way, got great comments from the designers at her go-sees, and Kelly is "very, very, very proud" of her. Hurrah! As for her photo, Nigel thinks that it's "beautiful" but says she doesn't look like a model - more like a tennis star with her first perfume! But hey, she does have "presence". As for Jez, he says that Annaliese was "vivacious and gorgeous and bubbly" on set... until she got in the bottle, where she "froze up"! But he adds: "You absolutely did not give up, which I have a lot of respect for." Kelly confesses that she does look a little muscular, but suggests that her photo is still more youthful than Laura's. And Tyra? She says it's "Michelle Obama meets Vanessa Williams" with an "Aladdin twist". "Your smile saved this picture from being a disaster," she adds.
Sophie's congratulated for booking four out of four go-sees, and then it's onto her photo! Jez suggests the brief was made for Sophie - upbeat, girly, soft, young and fresh. But Nigel doesn't think Sophie actually looks that youthful - the shot's still "stunning", but he'd have liked to see a little more humour in her face. Kelly thinks it is more youthful than other things they've seen, but says she would have loved to have seen Sophie lift her dress up a little.
So with the individual evaluations done, Tyra tells the models that the judges will deliberate - and decide the two finalists, who will walk in a fashion show for Forever 21 "like you and I have never seen before". Yikes!
The judges deliberate
Kelly doesn't think a 17-year-old girl would see Laura's photo and want to buy the fragrance, while Nigel suggests that Laura is a really a "rock and roll chick". Jez admits that Laura just couldn't drop this, but Tyra defends Laura - 18-year-olds often wish they were older, after all.
Moving on to Annaliese, Nigel thinks she got the brief though he doesn't necessarily love it. Kelly says it looks like a "jewellery catalogue" photo but hey, she likes Annaliese's spirit and her success at go-sees thanks to her personality. But Jez points out that her personality didn't come out at her shoot! Finally, Nigel calls Sophie's shot "stunning" but says it's not that youthful. Jez explains that Sophie had the perfect attitude on set - joy and elation - and Kelly declares: "she's a model."
Who's Going Home?
Here we go then - Tyra's going to announce the two finalists! The first is... Sophie. That leaves Annaliese and Laura in the bottom two this week, but which one will be going home?
Tyra says the judges love that Laura's different, but she was fired from a show in Toronto, and the judges are "very nervous" about her walk. And is she a "one-trick pony"? She can be wild and a "pirate"... can she be soft and young and sweet? As for Annaliese, Tyra says she's got so much better in the competition and she did well on her go-sees. But is it just a personality, or is she a real model? Well, the person staying is... Laura!
Tyra explains that Laura is going through because the judges feel like she is "the whole package" - but they are "terrified" about her runway walk, so she has to work on that. Meanwhile, Annaliese thanks all the judges for her time on the competition as Tyra tells her that she is a "star" and has "that thing": "Go after it like crazy."
Afterwards, Annaliese admits that she's thrilled Kelly changed her mind about her since worked so hard. "Mainly I'm proud of myself, just because I realise now I can do a lot more than I thought I can," she adds.
So now we're down to our final two... who's going to win? We'll find out soon!
